But, for the <em>\u015bakta<\/em>&#8211;<em>up\u0101sakas<\/em> this date is also known as <em>K\u0101l\u012b-jayant\u012b<\/em>. Many people have probably heard that <em>Mu\u1e47\u1e0dam\u0101l\u0101 Tantra<\/em>, <em>Guhy\u0101tiguhya Tantra<\/em>, <em>To\u1e0dala Tantra<\/em> identify ten <em>Vi\u1e63\u1e47u-avat\u0101ras<\/em> with ten <em>Mah\u0101vidy\u0101s<\/em>, and according to these texts <em>K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a<\/em> is the manifestation of <em>K\u0101l\u012b<\/em>. However, the very ideas about the unity of <em>K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a<\/em> and <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101la<\/em> (whose <em>\u015aakti<\/em> is <em>K\u0101l\u012b<\/em>) are also found in earlier sources, in <em>Bhagavadg\u012bt\u0101<\/em> (11.32) <em>K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a<\/em> says:<\/p>\n<p>\u0915\u093e\u0932\u094b\u093d\u0938\u094d\u092e\u093f \u0932\u094b\u0915\u0915\u094d\u0937\u092f\u0915\u0943\u0924\u094d | k\u0101lo&#8217;smi lokak\u1e63ayak\u1e5bt |<\/p>\n<p><em>I am the time destroying the worlds.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you look at the <em>paddhatis<\/em> where the <em>K\u0101l\u012b-p\u016bj\u0101<\/em> is described, then in many of them you can find borrowing from <em>Puru\u1e63a Suktam<\/em>, for example, in the <em>ny\u0101sa<\/em> practice or in other elements of the <em>p\u016bj\u0101<\/em>. This is not accidental, because the image of <em>puru\u1e63a<\/em> symbolises <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101la<\/em> and His <em>\u015aakti<\/em> &#8211; <em>K\u0101l\u012b<\/em>. <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101la Dak\u1e63i\u1e47\u0101m\u016brti<\/em> is the <em>\u015aaktim\u0101n<\/em> of <em>Dak\u1e63i\u1e47\u0101 K\u0101l\u012b<\/em>. <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101la<\/em> is the Great Time, who absorbs the very time, He is the symbol of transformation that also indicates the inner yogic process. Many interesting images pointing, for example, to the original dark nature of <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101la<\/em> and <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101l\u012b<\/em>, are found in other sources. It rather as the highest reality from which the creation, maintenance and destruction of the entire universe occurs. It is also known that \u1e5b\u1e63i of the <em>Puru\u1e63a<\/em> <em>Suktam<\/em> hymns is <em>N\u0101r\u0101ya\u1e47a<\/em>, who is identified with this <em>puru\u1e63a<\/em> in other sources, in <em>\u015aatapatha-br\u0101hma\u1e47a<\/em> for example. We can find many earlier sources pointing to the identity of <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101la<\/em>, <em>N\u0101r\u0101ya\u1e47a<\/em> (<em>Vi\u1e63\u1e47u<\/em> or <em>K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a<\/em>) and also <em>K\u0101l\u012b<\/em> &#8211; the <em>\u015aakti<\/em> of <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101la<\/em>. For many <em>n\u0101tha-yogis<\/em>, <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101la<\/em> is none other than <em>\u015aiva Adin\u0101th<\/em>, because <em>Mah\u0101k\u0101la<\/em> and his <em>\u015aakti<\/em> are very revered in the <em>N\u0101tha Sampradaya<\/em>.
