Let me give one of the early examples from the <em>Atharva Veda<\/em> (10.2.31):<br><br>\u0905\u0937\u094d\u091f\u091a\u0915\u094d\u0930\u093e \u0928\u0935\u0926\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0930\u093e \u0926\u0947\u0935\u093e\u0928\u093e\u0902 \u092a\u0942\u0930\u092f\u094b\u0927\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0964&nbsp;<br>\u0924\u0938\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0902 \u0939\u093f\u0930\u0923\u094d\u092f\u092f\u0903 \u0915\u094b\u0936\u0903 \u0938\u094d\u0935\u0930\u094d\u0917\u094b \u091c\u094d\u092f\u094b\u0924\u093f\u0937\u093e\u0935\u0943\u0924\u0903\u0964\u0964&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>a\u1e63\u1e6dacakr\u0101 navadv\u0101r\u0101 dev\u0101n\u0101\u1e43 p\u016brayodhy\u0101\u0964<br>tasy\u0101\u1e43 hira\u1e47yaya\u1e25 ko\u015ba\u1e25 svargo jyoti\u1e63\u0101v\u1e5bta\u1e25\u0964<\/em><br><br>Invincible (<em>ayodhy\u0101<\/em>) abode (<em>p\u016bra<\/em>) of gods (<em>dev\u0101n\u0101m<\/em>) with nine holes (<em>navadv\u0101r\u0101<\/em>), eight <em>chakras<\/em> (<em>a\u1e63\u1e6dacakr\u0101<\/em>). In that (<em>tasy\u0101m<\/em>), golden-colored (<em>hira\u1e47yaya\u1e25<\/em>) shell (<em>ko\u015ba\u1e25<\/em>), the heavens (<em>svarga\u1e25<\/em>) are shrouded (<em>\u0101v\u1e5bta\u1e25<\/em>) with light (<em>jyoti\u1e63\u0101<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This hymn, similar to the <em>Puru\u1e63asuktam<\/em>, is dedicated to the first man, from whom the entire universe and all living beings originated. Later, we see this principle in texts, such as the <em>Siddha-siddh\u0101nta-paddhati<\/em>, in the description of <em>parapi\u1e47\u1e0da<\/em> (macrocosmos) and <em>vya\u015btipi\u1e47\u1e0da<\/em> (microcosms), its many copies within it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The term \u201c<em>puru\u1e63a<\/em>\u201d itself is explained by Yaska in two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Puri \u1e63\u0101da\u1e25<\/em> (the one who sits in the abode, i.e. the body), or <em>puri \u015baya\u1e25<\/em> (the one who rests in the body). You could also say he is the one who \u201cfills\u201d the body. In Tantrism, the body is often associated with <em>\u015aakti<\/em> and the spirit in the body &#8211; <em>\u015aiva<\/em>. Thus, this is the unity of <em>\u015aiva<\/em> and <em>\u015aakti<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under each element mentioned, you can reveal a dozen or even more meanings. Ideally this should be conveyed to you by the <em>guru<\/em> through personal contact.
